Desk Tour

Welcome back! I'm back on #LifeStyleSunday with a Desk Tour! When I posted a picture of my desk on social media, a lot of people told me that they loved it! So I decided to do a post on it so you guys can see the details and what I keep on it and how the things on it are useful to me! It's nice having a work space/home office space. It gives you a set location for being productive, even if you never sit there. I like to work in different places to make sure I stay on task. This is different for everyone. Also, making the place inspirational to you is another key plus. Public Service Announcement: My desk is not complete yet. This is just the beginning. I want you guys to see it now so you'll be able to recognize when I change a few things. As we go along in the desk tour, I'll tell you my plans!

My color theme is white, black, and gold! That's what I'm working with right now.

On the extreme left of my desk, I keep my iMac desktop. I use this for a lot of the video editing and blog writing I do. This is also what I use for a lot of business stuff. I really enjoy having a desktop, especially when I really want to concentrate on working. It's preferable to me because if I'm on my laptop I'll just move to the couch. My keyboard is really white because I have a keyboard cover on it. I purchase that from eBay. Also, I have my very own mousepad on! I was too excited when it came in the mail, also purchased from eBay.

If you look behind the keyboard cover, I have a note pad. That's where I jot down ideas for my blog and channel. Also, that's where I write general to do lists for the day. I never walk around without a to do list because that's a plan for failure *laughs*. It's white and gold, so it works with my team. I purchase it at Target.

On the right of the notepad, you see my favorite coffee mug! It actually has really nice details that aren't so clear in the images. When it's hot out, I usually have a class there that has the letter "C" on it. But, now that it's getting cold, I changed back to my coffee mug! I love the coaster it's on. It has a rustic/stone feel to it, and matches my style so well. I purchase it in a pack that comes with four, from Ross.

Below that, you can see some lip products. Those are some of my go-to lip products right now, but you'll see the details in another post that's coming soon!

On the right of that, I have my MacBook Air. That's my favorite thing on my desk after the coasters. My MacBook is more like my school computer. I take it around with my everywhere, or it's always in my car.

If you move even more to the right, you'll see my iPad and my planner. My planner is gold and white. I purchased it from target, when I went back to school shopping. I used that one to do long term planning rather than my day to day planning. I also use it to do planning for the blog and my channel I'm starting. You can also see the gold keyboard cover for my macbook behind that.

This is the basic start of my desk! I'll be adding and changing some things. So far, I need a gold flower vase with some completely white flowers! That's the mission.

Thanks for reading my desk tour! I hope you enjoyed!

Update

Having your own blog is great, especially when you can share bits and pieces of your life and people are actually interested.

Every year I say "I can't wait for the summer time so I can post on IM2E more", only to come to find out that some is the most whack fashion season of all time. Even though I want to blog about lifestyle for the majority, it would be nice to stick to the basis of why I created this blog.

Fall is approaching and I'm excited.

The one sole sandal heels above are my purchase of the week!
About two weeks ago I starred into my closet, looking for something to wear. Only to come to find out that I wasn't able to put any outfits together. The hilarious part about that was, I had a full closet with everything I needed. Then the light bulb lit. It come to my realization that I didn't have the shoe variety for the type of clothing pieces that I was creating. ALL I HAD IN MY CLOSET WAS SNEAKERS! ROSHES, AIR FORCE 1s.

To me, that was variety. I tend to forget that I change my style everyday. The way my closet was last year and the way my closet is this year; two completely different things.

Here, on IM2E, we're all about sharing things that are affordable. I know who my readers are, and I won't put material on here that won't be favorable to their pockets.

Even though I've written on here about how much I prefer online shopping to in-store shopping, I decided to do both and stop in some store that I usually wouldn't purchase shoes. At this point, I needed an emergency shoe closet revamp. I would have rather spent all my money on 100 pairs of different shoes than to go out and buy the one pair of shoes I really want, but then have only those shoes to wear.

1. First Stop - Charlotte Rousse? (I know I know, so unlike me? Keep reading)

Before that day, I had never purchased anything from Charlotte Rousse. If I wanted to expand/change my wardrobe, I had to try new things and open up to other stores.

Walking in, I became discouraged as soon as I saw "acid wash" jeans in the front.

Looking straight ahead, these caught my eyes! The color and the structure both grabbed my attention immediately.

I forgot the price, but I'm 97% sure that they were $34.99

I ordered these last two from @Forever21! To be honest, Forever 21 are almost always uncomfortable! These have been pretty bearable for short term wearing. On my long days where I'm running many errands or spending much time outside of my house, none of these are at the top of my list.

The slippers are so chic! A must purchase! I could not believe they were from Forever 21 when I received them in the mail. Of course, because they never have

Again, I'm just trying to be more affordable on the shoes side and permit more variety.

Catch me with with these slides on in the fall/winter! Maybe with some socks on!

Thanks for reading! Keep checking back for more updates :)

OX!

I'm back at it! I know, it's been a while. Life has been so busy, I can't even put it into words.

Summer has to be my highest disliked fashion season. Every time I look in to my closet, I'm confused. I may not miss the fall weather, but I do miss the fall clothing; the several layers and the colors. Now, wearing black is hard to do (but I still do it either way). I purchased these oxfords for an earlier season, but I never got the chance to bring them out. For now, I'll continue with my fall shopping. Summer is running out, and I'm surprisingly excited!

Don't you like my color blend? Brown and black? I know right. They blend really well, even without the purse as an accessory.

Everyone has been on my case about not posting! Believe me, there are posts lined up. I just can't click the post button, and I don't know why. My thoughts are really all over the place. I'm think about two things right now: More lifestyle posts and NYFW 2016.

Feature: Something brown

Interview with @langmia!

How would you describe your style?
I would describe my style as simple, clean, and neat.  I'll wear pretty much anything as long as it portrays a somewhat sophisticated, yet laid back image.  That's why I'm becoming a fan of blouses. They're simply button downs with intricate designs and patterns.
What trends do not fit your personal style?
I don't follow trends because I'm not really into fashion.  Again- if it's simple and clean with a bit of an edge, I can rock with it.  But to answer your question, I guess I'm not too obsessed with joggers.
Why the pieces in this outfit?
The pieces in these fits are a true display of who I am.  I'm a simple, easy going guy; So, just three articles of clothing (one shirt, jeans, and loafers) is all I really need. The intricate patterns of the blouse bring out my sophisticated side. And the hat (or fedora), was a recent gift that I just wear for flare. I can be attention seeking at times lol.
Who/what are your fashion inspirations?
As I said earlier, I'm not really into fashion.  There isn't anything I try to emulate.  However, I do follow my fashion blogger brothers on instagram- Junior Doh @topnotchjr/ @fashionmovesforward and Marius Mba @bossmarius.  They've got dope stuff. Everyone should be following them.
What you see your closet looking like in 10 years?
I don't know lol.
Who would you recommend to be the next feature?
You all should definitely feature my brothers.  Like I said, follow them on IG and you'll definitely find out why!

Chelsea's Notes: Our first feature is @langmia! When he posted this outfit on Instagram, his name ran to my "features" list. His style caught my eye because it was more than unique. It's important to have a male feature to compare and contrast our creative minds with. We're actually close, so seeing his style change over the years, as well as ours, shows the steps towards transition. I'm not a fan of brown. I've found it difficult to style this color surely because the majority of my closet is black. But, if everyone wore brown as sophisticated as this, I would be convinced. When it comes to features, we're about featuring regular people with style that catches the eye.

Whitney Thompson: 2008 Americas Next Top Model Winner

One thing I love about my school is the opportunities it provides its students. When I heard 2008 Americas Next Top Model winner Whitney Thompson was coming to campus I felt as I needed to have an interaction with her because not only she is a great role model but she is someone who belives in living a healthy life style. Listening to her speak, she gave an insight on the fashion idustry and how it really works. In the post I would love to focus more on self confidence because I feel as it is something that is overlooked by so many.
Being part of the fashion indutry is  hard not only because it changes constantly but because its alot of pressure to both designers and models. Designers want their product to looks its best without having to spend as much so they pressure thier models to look unrealistically the best.  Whitney educated us about self confidence, eating disorders and how much of a Cut throat industry the fashion industry really is. As someone with alot of curves, I can relate. I Myself have been a victim of an eating disorder, its not something I like to talk about because its something I am ashamed of or I was. Now im healthier but not everyone gets to that point. With this being said it is important that we feel comfortable with how we look and if we happen to not feel comfortable we should make sure we go about making a change in the right way.
I learned a thing or two on how much I should let things I see in magazines, billboards and adds influnces my idea of what the perfect body or face should look like. The average modeling age is 16 and the average model hieght is 5'11 and weights 117 pounds. Stuff like this scare me because i've always wanted to a part of the modeling industry and I meet none of those requirements. I am 18, 5'4 and wiegh 120 pounds. My advise to anyone who wants to be part of the modeling indutry is to examplify from Whitney Thompsons experience with modeling and stay true to your self.

Styling Tips

If you guys did not already know I am a college student. I recently just added a minor in fashion and retailing. For my first topic in class we talked about styling and what components are needed to build a great woadrobe. As part of the class we are required to read a book called Styletini written by my professor Ashley Martini. One of the key things she talks about in the first chapter of the book is knowing your body type and making sure you know your body measurement. She mesions Hourglass body type as the ideal body type but in class talks about changing that part of the book because no body type is the ideal body type. My favorite chapter of the book is chapter 6. She talks about shoes an accessories, how to style them and what basics you should have in your closet. I will reccomend this book to anyone who is thinking about a career in fashion or just interested in knowing more about fashion for their personal style and daily life.
